Trip Hammer (Double)
This model represents the type of machine found in old metal
working factories. These machines employed very heavy hammers
which would be used to shape the hot metal. The hammers are
tripped by means of a cam mechanism and are an excellent example
of a 1st class lever.
An elastic band connects the 1″ and 2″ Pulleys. This band
is crossed thus reversing the direction of motion. Always turn
the crank CLOCKWISE otherwise the cams will jam.
